City Bridges Walk
This walk encompasses all the London in or at the edge of the old City of
London boundaries and even ambling and exploring diversions should take no
more than 90 minutes. The links will give you a bit more information about
This walk can of course be routed either way starting at Blackfriars Bridge and ending at London Bridge / Tower Bridge or vice versa. Best place to start though is the splendid Blackfriars pub by Blackfriars tube. Walk onto the Blackfriars bridge and admire the view before going down to the path underneath Blackfriars Bridge and head west to the (1) Millennium Bridge. Cross the Millennium Bridge towards Tate Modern (2) and follow the waterfront to Southwark Bridge (3). Cross the West side of this and go through the underpass on the north side (4) following the Thames path past Walbrook Stair and under Cannon Street Railway Bridge. The path carries on under London Bridge (5) where a stairway will lead you to the top allowing you to cross on the East side. Once you reach the southern shore drop down along the Thames embankment past the site of Old London Bridge (6) and carry onto Tower Bridge (7). Here you can either cross Tower Bridge and loop back to Monument or stroll back to London Bridge station via Tooley Street.
